Since Artsy Girl has been learning about the state of Delaware this week, we made a large replica of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. It's the largest twin suspension bridge in the world. We used a heavy piece of cardboard for the bottom and blue foam paper for the water. We then went crazy with the popsicle sticks, glue and craft rope. I think it turned out pretty cute and she learned a lot about the amount of engineering and design it takes to make such a large structure. Thanks to Erica at Confessions of a Homeschooler and her Road Trip USA Geography curriculum for the great idea!
